To get Started login to your cPanel
Once you login to your cPanel you get to see different sections like FILES, DATABASE, DOMAINS, EMAILS, METRICS etc.. By using all these sections we can manage website efficiently. Here I will explain how those sections are useful to manage the website.
How to Add a New Email Account
cPanel makes it easy to create your own email address using your unique domain name. For example email@example.com. To get started look for the EMAIL ACCOUNT option under the EMAIL section.
Follow the below steps to Add an Email account:
- Email Account
- Add Email Account
- Enter desired email address. Eg: info@, admin@
- Enter your password
- Select Mailbox Quota
- Click on Create Account
Then, you can either access a webmail account right from cPanel or set up your new Gmail account with the help of Gsuite which cost you minimum Rs 150/- per month.
How to Access a Webmail Account?
To access a webmail account use this URL: yourwebsitename/webmail. For example www.rithika.org/webmail. Then enter your email id and password to log in. Start using your Business email Account.
How many Email Accounts we can Create?
The number of email accounts depends on your Hosting plan. For Example in Bigrock Shared Hosting starter plan, you will get 5 Email accounts. While choosing the hosting plan you get to see all these options.
How to Add a New Domain
Adding a new domain will always depend on Hosting plan. If your hosting plan says one website you cannot add any new domain into your cPanel. To add a domain into cPanel you need to have a multi-website hosting plan. If you have multi-Website hosting Plan then follow below steps to Add a new Domain in cPanel. Look for “Domains” Section. cPanel lets you create two types of domains.
- Addon Domains: These are the main Domains with TLD. Eg: rithika.org
- Sub Domains: It is a second website with unique content. But this is not a new domain. It is a division of your main Domain. Eg: help.rithika.org
- Domains – Addon Domains.
- In the first box enter your domain you want to add on this cPanel.
- Once you fill the Domain name with TLD it automatically completes other text boxes.
- Click on Add Domain.
Once it processes the request it will notify you with success message. Now to see the location of this domain in the file manager just navigate to File manager section of cPanel.
- Click on the File manager.
- look for Public_html folder.
- Find your Domain name in public_html folder.
How to Upload a File
cPanel provides a user-friendly interface to help you to manage files called FILE MANAGER. To upload a file look for the File Manager option in the Files section.
To upload a file Click on the +File button or Upload button from the top bar. Browse to different locations using the folder tree on the left. You can perform various actions including Uploading a file, editing a file or Deleting a file etc..
How to take Backup
To take back up of your Website look for the Backup Wizard option in the Files section. Click on Backup to take backup manually. Then follow the wizard to complete your Backup.
